Description: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: 1.
Establish and maintain complete child and staff files.
2.
Serve as center administrator relating to ODJFS regulations and step up to quality.
3.
Oversees daily operations of classroom especially health and safety of children.
4.
Complete a PASS and ECERS.
5.
Develop a budget with SUTQ funds and maintain accurate records of SUTQ spending receipts.
6.
Plan and develop a weekly Curriculum Plan that establishes and implements individual and group learning experiences based on analysis of child summaries.
7.
Schedule and prepare Parent Teacher conferences and Home Visits.
8.
Plan and develop transition plans as needed.
9.
Conduct all required screenings and assessments within stated timeframes.
10.
Provide referrals to appropriate Quality Assurance staff based on screening and assessment results.
11.
Establish and maintain Child goals.
Monitor child goals, including IEP goals, and follow up accordingly.
12.
Establish and maintain child assessments including written observations of child’s well-being, TS Gold, work samples and individual child goals.
13.
Monitor compliance with all rules and regulations.
14.
Establishes and maintains an effective communication system with team members and families.
15.
Oversee and review Medical Care Plans and Request for Administration of Medication prior to child’s entry and as needed.
16.
Incorporate Conscious Discipline techniques in daily schedules and routines.
17.
Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe and effective classroom/center environment that ensures the safety and well-being of children.
18.
Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements: MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS: (*Indicates developed after employment) Demonstrate compassion and an ability to work with low income persons from diverse populations, and be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
Knowledge of: Early Childhood Development, program standards, grant goals, and department goals.
Skill in: Ability to work with a variety of people and across diverse cultures Ability to: Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate good interpersonal skills, and be cooperative and maintain a positive attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child development or closely related field in education or family/consumer science with one year experience being responsible for the education and care of children ages birth through five (5) or equivalent combination of minimum required education (2 year degree) and experience.
A degree other than in early childhood education or child development requires six appropriate college courses.
These courses include child development or early childhood education courses that focus on children birth through age five.
Some of the courses may focus on child development issues, some on early childhood curriculum, some on teaching and assessment issues in program settings (classrooms or homes), and some may focus on the development of children in the contexts of their families.
Each of these six courses should be either two or three semester college credit courses.
Note: two quarter credits equal one semester credit.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with the Agency’s vehicle insurance policy.
