* _*This position is in Elyria, OH (Lorain County), we are looking for candidates living on East or West side of Cleveland, DO NOT APPLY if you are living out of state!!!*_ The Embedded Firmware Engineer works in conjunction with the Electrical Engineering team to design and support new and existing uninterruptible power supplies and peripheral devices.
This role focuses on firmware development and includes troubleshooting of new and existing hardware, development of technical documentation, and providing support for Mechanical Engineering Team for wiring diagrams and component selection.
The associate reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
*Job Responsibilities:* * Works in conjunction with Chief Technical Officer and Embedded Firmware Engineers to design firmware for the required and optimized operation of microcontrollers, IC’s, and peripheral devices.
* Building working with circuit boards * Develop and maintain methods of data communication between products.
* Assist in the development and troubleshooting of electronic devices, circuitry, and wiring schematics for both Electrical and Mechanical Departments.
* Interpret electrical schematics and PCB fabrication files for troubleshooting and repair of new and existing products.
* Perform research and development for the enhancement or redesign of current and legacy products to increase functionality or to correct known issues.
* Maintain source code for all versions of firmware.
* Write technical documentations pertaining to the testing and user operation of production products.
*Education and Experience:* * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred; minimum of 3 years’ experience or combination of direct experience; minimum of 10 years.
* Advanced knowledge of Assembly, C, or Python programming language and data communication protocols, including UART, SPI, I2C, CANbus, or combination of these technologies.
Knowledge of C and/or Python is preferred.
* Experience with both Windows and Linux based development tools and integrated development suites.
* Experience with PWM and Analog-to-Digital modules is a plus * Experience with troubleshooting tools such as digital multi-meters, power analyzers, oscilloscopes, and programmable AC power sources.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ESD and safety skills when working with high voltage and open frame electronics.
* Excellent technical writing skills.
*Physical Requirements:* * Ability to lift up to 75 Lbs.

* Use of computer and monitors for 1-8 hours.
* Ability to stand for 1-8 hours.
* Use of manual dexterity when handling hot soldering iron, SMD reflow tools, or hand tools.
* Ability to use microscope for ultra-fine pitch components.
*Work Environment:* * Laboratory and office setting Job Type: Full-time Pay: $65,000.
