Under direction, assists with the implementation of Emergency Management programs and operational procedures, enters/retrieves data from system to establish and maintain base, develops and presents training programs, coordinates the exchange of information between jurisdictions, conducts on-site inspections to ensure compliance; attends federal and state mandated continuing education courses.
Performs other related duties as required.
*QUALIFICIATIONS:*
Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) in Emergency Management or other related discipline preferred, supplemented by coursework in emergency management and planning, public safety, HAZMAT/HAZCOMM programs, plus two (2) years of experience in emergency planning activities.
*LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS*:
A valid Ohio vehicle operator’s license and the ability to maintain coverage under the county vehicle insurance policy.
ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 Licenses, Hazmat Safety Officer, OSHA 10 and 20, Hazwopper, PDS, ConED
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:*
Knowledge of emergency management operations, disaster services planning, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations including ORC 3750 and 5915, inspection procedures, department policies and procedures; Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions in written, oral, picture, or schedule form, and to establish an effective working relationship with associates and the public.
