We are looking for an experienced Quality Control and Food Safety Manager to ensure that our products meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer.

This position develops, implements and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of safe and premium products, consistent with established standards, USDA specifications and production goals.
*Description:*
Responsible for further developing and overseeing implementation of the company’s food safety and quality management system to assure food product integrity and compliance with specifications, BRC, GMP's, HACCP, USDA regulatory and customer standards.
Liaison with the USDA, maintenance, production, plant management and contracted service providers.
Will be directly responsible for corrective action and preventive measure activities.
Maintain product specification and validate the specifications are being met in production.
Will be responsible for responding to all customer complaints.
Research and resolve technical issues related to food safety and quality.
Oversee pre-operational and operational inspections.
Complete and develop reports using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point).
USDA label approvals include researching any special claims.
Delegate tasks to QA Techs and ensure property.
Manage QA Tech scheduling including personal time off and unscheduled absences.
Maintain all company approvals and obtain additional program approvals as needed.
*Education / Training*
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic Reading, Writing and Math skills.
Food Science degree preferred.
*Related Experience/Requirements*
Minimum 5 years of experience in food safety and/or food science.
Supervisory experience (minimum 3 yrs.
)
*Qualifications*
Knowledge of retail and food service meat cuts and product specifications, food safety and quality training
Bilingual – Preferred not required.
Supervisory experience (minimum 3 yrs.

Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in quality assurance, and food safety management systems, meat HACCP and BRC is desired.

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift up to 60 lbs.
must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
Work in a cold refrigerated environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.
00 - $70,000.
