*The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties* is seeking a full time Crisis Support Specialist to support our dedicated Crisis Response Team!
*Duties*:
* Answers incoming calls promptly
* Offers supportive reassurance while collecting information related to caller's needs, status, and situation
* Provides supportive and calming initial intervention while gathering information, including supportive listening and following procedural guidelines for accessing On-Call Emergency Services clinical staff
* Provides phone outreach to individuals identified by clinical staff that would benefit from such support
* Completes appropriate documentation of interventions
* General clerical and office duties as needed and required of the position
* Attends required trainings and keeps up to date on all program staff meetings and supervisory sessions
*Education and Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Ability to relate effectively, over the telephone, to individuals from varied backgrounds, including emotionally disturbed and agitated individuals
* Ability to remain calm in difficult circumstances and to encourage calmness in others
* Ability to assess alternatives and make quick judgments
* Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
* Ability to handle pressure of competing priorities
* Ability to work alone for extended periods of time
* A commitment to quality care including timely and accurate documentation
* Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive issues
* Basic keyboarding skills, adequate to complete necessary patient records and maintain necessary documentation.
* A valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, evidence of personal automobile insurance, and of insurability by the organization’s automobile liability insurance carrier; or, in the absence of such documentation, the ability to complete the essential functions of the position within whatever driving and travel restrictions may be imposed by the Center.
