Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager is a highly strategic role that will shape how and where Bettcher creates new revenue segments moving forward.
The successful candidate plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence.
The ideal candidate will has demonstrated successes in business development, a proven track record of achieving sales growth targets, and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
New Customers: Expand customer base into new customer segments or adjacent markets, including new channels to market.
Customer/Channel Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and channel partners.
Develop programs to drive growth and accountability through the channel.
Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, including new geographic regions and industry segments.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support to develop convincing value propositions, marketing collateral, advertising opportunities, etc.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify new markets, trends, opportunities, and areas for growth within the food processing and industrial markets.
Strategic Planning: Develop, execute, and oversee a strategic business development plan to achieve sales growth targets and expand Bettcher Industries' market share.
Lead Generation & Conversion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through brand recognition, lead generation and conversion, networking, and relationship building.
Proposal Development: Collaborate with the product and technical teams to create compelling proposals that address client requirements and showcase Bettcher Industries' capabilities.
Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations with clients, including pricing discussions and contract terms, to successfully close deals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
MBA is a plus.
Proven track record of at least 5-7 years in business development, sales, or a related role within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
Strong understanding of the food processing industry and industrial markets.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Results-driven with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Knowledge/Skills
Track record of identifying market opportunities and putting plans in place to drive strategic business growth.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Displays a high level of critical thinking.
