SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities of production and secondary workers by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Evaluates manufacturing process and takes action to maximize efficiencies and reduce scrap and rework.
Reviews daily production numbers, downtime, and scrap numbers.
Reviews efficiencies with supervisors.
Works with Quality Department to keep N/C area evaluated and reworked.
Where applicable, evaluates sample parts produced for compliance with customer requirements.
Forwards samples to the Quality Supervisor and/or designate.
Enters set-up sheets.
Maintains tooling repair list and forward to Toolroom Manager.
May verbally request corrective maintenance if required.
Monitors changes in the production schedule to ensure timely completion of work orders
Takes appropriate corrective action as required.
May request the assistance of the Shipping Manager, the Inventory Control personnel and/or designates when needed.
Inspects product to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Conveys company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Required to be a member of the Safety Committee.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and assigns duties.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Reviews production schedule to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.
Prepares operator reports and resolves operational and manufacturing issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Oversee Production and Secondary Departments.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves workers issues or submits unsettled issues to the Human Resources for action.
Reviews workers time, production records, and labor efficiencies.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Provides training.
Serves as backup shift supervisor when needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage three subordinate supervisors and their direct reports, approximately 85 employees.
Must be able to effectively handle interpersonal communications between peers and subordinates with strong personalities and opinions to operate as a team.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
May be required to fill in as back up supervisor to cover PTO or training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
5-10 years’ experience in plastic injection molding field.
