Location: Elyria, OH Full Time– 40 hours per week basis, hourly with benefits.
NEOEx Systems, Inc.
is seeking a skilled and reliable Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician to join our team.
As an I&C Technician, you will play a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control systems and equipment in support of facility operations, product development, and test operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for instrumentation and controls work in the growing industries of air mobility and energy.
*Duties:* * Install, inspect, test, and maintain instrumentation and controls systems and equipment following established electrical codes and safety guidelines.
* Troubleshoot instrumentation and controls problems, identify faults, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
* Conduct regular preventative maintenance on instrumentation and controls systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
* Repair or replace defective instrumentation and controls components.
* Perform basic AC and DC wiring of components, PLCs, relays, and timers.
* Responsible for keeping lab equipment in proper working order.
* Carry out maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation of equipment applied by industrial motor controls, chemical feed systems, pump drives, and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
* Perform maintenance of alarm and SCADA systems, electrical, pneumatic and electronic controls, programmable controls, and other similar equipment.
* Physically construct or modify existing test setups required to perform testing.
* Setup and test computer systems by running cables and connecting computer jacks and plugs.
* Conduct both basic and complex testing without supervision.
* Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to assist in the design, layout, installation, and test of new instrumentation and controls systems.
* Document all test set-up and test results into laboratory notebook or other designated retention location.
* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment following written or verbal instruction.
* Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors.
* Monitor equipment, collect data, and ensure testing and production equipment is operating within defined specifications.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics to effectively carry out assigned tasks.
* Competent with all standard work test procedures.
* Estimate time required to complete lab reports and work orders.
* Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
* Develop skills regarding new testing technologies and methodologies as required.
* Comply with all safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Travel to other NEOEx facilities as necessary.
* Conduct other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:* * Must be self-motivated and possess strong organizational skills.
* Must be able to use good judgement and common sense to make numerous daily decisions.
* Must be able to reorder priorities in accordance with changing work conditions.
* Must be able to speak and write proficiently in the English language.
* Must be able to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Edge (or equivalent web browser) * Must be able to use hand power tools.
* Must be able to use ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, cable testers, and oscilloscopes.
* Must be able to use a computer.
* Must be able to use a remote video teleconferencing application (i.
e.
Zoom).
* Must be able to hear audible alarms.
* Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
* Must understand the importance of safety procedures and follow safety practices.
* Must be able to work independently.
*Basic Experience Desired in One or More of the Following Areas:* * Control Systems * Data Systems * Pressure/Vacuum Systems * Power Supplies * Pressure Gauges and Transducers * Thermocouples * Flow Meters * Power Meters * Current and Voltage Meters * National Electric Code * NEMA Rated Enclosures * Intrinsic Electrical Equipment *Education: *Relevant technical certification or degree.
