The Job As a Project Engineer - you'll be part of our Tools & Outdoor Product Development Group located in Valley City, OH.
You'll get to: Lead the development of new products in the Outdoor Group platform that meet design, marketing, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
Provide technical leadership for assigned projects.
Manage multiple assemblies and systems while considering multiple design concepts.
Weigh the tradeoffs between concepts to determine the best path forward.
Create new and/or modify existing 3D CAD geometry and drawings of plastic/steel components, sub-assemblies, and other complex layouts.
Proactively considers cost, performance, and durability tradeoffs to help meet project cost targets.
Gather the information needed to support business cases.
Analyze simulation and test data to reach sound design and business decisions in complex technical situations.
Hands-on concept development and prototyping.
Develop and execute the test plans for new product development projects.
Ensure appropriate documentation is developed and maintained within CAD & PLM software.
Disposition of supplier PPAP documentation for part production release.
Evaluate existing designs for product improvements.
Improvements may include user experience improvements, cost savings, ease of assembly, warranty reduction, and more.
Work on outdoor power equipment in an outdoor environment when needed.

You also have: BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years' experience in new product development.
Outdoor Power Equipment and/or Power Tool background in use, design, or manufacture preferred.
Extensive experience in mechanical system design and analysis.
Familiarity with stage gate development processes to deliver new products.
Experience in designing within CAD applications, NX, or Catia preferred.
Solid analytical skills and problem-solving skills to generate/evaluate creative ideas.
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks by being organized and detail-oriented.
Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver solutions that are innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective in a highly cross-functional environment.
